Pearl

Provides confidence, knowing that help is only a button press away.

What is Pearl?

Pearl is an easy to wear personal help button transceiver that communicates bi-directionally with a Chiptech base unit. Excellent range assures users that a button press will summon help in an emergency when around the home and garden*. Designed with safety and comfort in mind, advanced technology has been wrapped in a small discrete casing that is hot waterproof and can be worn in the bath or shower.

People living independently will benefit from the feelings of safety and security that Pearl offers around the home and garden. If dexterity or mobility is an issue, then there is a variety of attachments available so Pearl can be adapted to suit the individual user.

*Range testing must be undertaken

How it works

Personal Help Button Pressed

When help is needed at any time of the day or night, press and hold the button on Pearl and count to three. The outer rim of Pearl will flash red to let the user know that the call for help has been received by the base unit, and will be sent to the monitoring centre.

Base Unit Activated

When an alert for help is activated, a loud pre-alarm will sound from the base unit. If it is a false activation for any reason, then the alert can be cancelled during this period by pressing the ‘Cancel’ button on the base unit.

Voice Message “Your alert has been sent...”

Once the pre-alarm has finished, voice messages will play to keep the user informed while they are being connected to the monitoring centre. When the help alert has been received by an operator, they can call back and speak to the user through the automatic speakerphone, and organise the assistance that is needed.

Pearl Pendant Features

Transceiver

Two way radio communication between the personal help buttons and the base unit.

Range

Excellent range to a base unit, with 300m+ being typical in open air.

Waterproof

Hot waterproof and can be worn in the bath or shower.

Battery Life

5 year battery life with typical use. Pearl reports when the battery capacity is reduced to 20%, providing ample time to organise a replacement.

User Assurance

Light ring around Pearl flashes when the signal is confirmed back from the base unit.

Automatic Safety Checks

Testing with the base unit to ensure correct functioning and low battery reporting.

Pearl is peace of mind.

When Pearl is activated and the alert is successfully received by the Chiptech base unit, the outer edge of the Pearl transceiver flashes red to reassure the user that their alert has been received, and will be sent to the monitoring centre.

Wear your Pearl as a pendant or brooch.

Surgical grade, stainless steel hypoallergenic chain with clasp, which will break when significant pressure is applied. Pearl can also come attached to a chrome brooch pin for fastening to clothing. Users need to have a reasonable level of dexterity to enable them to transfer the brooch when needed.

Other Pearl Options

Pearl is designed to be lightweight, discrete, and easy to wear at all times, including the bath or shower. Multiple attachment options mean people can choose a help button that suits their lifestyle. The button is a soft grey colour to lessen its visibility, thereby reducing the stigma surrounding wearing a help device.
