COVID-19 Level 4 Update from Chiptech

As of midnight tonight (Wednesday 25 March) New Zealand alert classification for Covid-19 will be raised to Level 4, meaning that the country is in lockdown and all non-essential business must close for a minimum period of four weeks.

As we are part of the supply chain for essential business, Chiptech will continue to manufacture products and supply our customers. We will remain open until further notice.

We are making products specifically for the elderly and vulnerable, and we will continue to work as a team to get these life saving devices to the people that need them most during these extraordinary times.

Our Team
We will continue to keep a minimal level of onsite staff working to maintain our production and support services.

Staff that can work remotely are now doing so and will remain at home for the next four weeks. Contact details remain the same.

Our Workplace
In an endeavour to keep our workplace and our staff safe and healthy, we have implemented a vast array of measures in line with New Zealand Ministry of Health guidelines. We assess this information and the processes we have implemented on a daily basis, and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.

Our Production and Parts
As a consequence of Covid-19 and the emphasis on peoples’ health and safety we are experiencing an increased volume in orders from all the markets we supply. Delays in parts arriving combined with less staff members on site, means we anticipate a potential for delays in manufacturing of some products in the coming weeks. When we have a better picture of which products may be affected, we will contact each of our customers directly.

We would like to reiterate that forecasts are very important for the next three to four months. Accurate forecasts will ensure that we can continue to supply specific products at anticipated levels. Customers that have provided an indicative forecast will be prioritised.

Our Reassurance
We will endeavour to do our absolute best. Be reassured that we are taking this situation very seriously, as the health and wellbeing of our staff and our community remains the number one priority. Please be patient with us while we are trying to work within this new and challenging environment. Remember this is a moment in time, and we will get through this together.
