Chiptech Limited, a Christchurch based manufacturer in the medical alarm industry, will deliver its first export shipment of Personal Response Units (PRUs) to Vitalcall Australia, Australia's largest personal emergency response service, on Thursday, July 10.

The all new PRU has been designed to enhance the ability of people to continue to live independently in their own homes, assured of a rapid response in the event of a life threatening emergency.

The PRUs include advanced features including medication reminders with reporting, in-built inactivity monitoring and the potential to upload and download information to PRUs in users' homes.

This new supply agreement with VitalCall Australia is a stepping stone for Chiptech to establish itself in the international market place.

"Entering the Australian market has been a long process, but it has also made us aware of how innovative and leading edge our technology really is," Graeme Moore, Managing Director of Chiptech, said.

"Demand for our products has grown both in New Zealand and abroad as people are increasingly looking for innovative solutions to the complications of caring for an aging population and the strain this places on families and service providers," he said.

"We are delighted to have our first shipment heading to VitalCall Australia, and look forward to working with them closely in the future, to meet their needs and those of their clients."
